Gregory David Done
I have always been a traveler, both in spirit and in practice. My journey began in my hometown of Lafayette, California, where I first developed a deep-seated fascination for the wisdom and wellness traditions of Asia. This interest fostered a lifelong meditation practice and a dedicated academic path, leading me to earn a Master’s in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism and a Doctorate in Classical Chinese Medicine.
My twenties and early thirties were a season of exploration and discipline. While earning four college degrees, I worked in retail to support my studies and traveled all over the world to over thirty countries, including formative periods living in Thailand and Costa Rica, and I still love to travel! During this time, I also played drums in a metal band for 6 years and recorded a full-length studio album.
Along the way, I have had the good fortune to study with many inspiring teachers who introduced me to the practices of Chinese Astrology and Medicine. I have practiced both since 2015, and since joining Docere in 2022, I have found great fulfillment in integrated medicine. My mission is to serve people and do whatever I can to help them feel better, heal, and thrive through Chinese Medicine.
Parallel to my medical path, I have been an avid reader and writer since I was young. After earning a Bachelor’s in English Education, I authored eight books. This collection includes five books of poetry—four of which are published, with the fifth soon to be released—and three full-length books on Eastern Philosophy, including an upcoming major publication with Shambhala Books that serves as the first in-depth guide in English to Chinese Polestar Astrology.
In 2014, my father moved to Washington, prompting my decision to make the Pacific Northwest my home. I have been here since 2022 and now live in Enumclaw with my wife Amber and our two dogs, with a baby on the way. Outside of my professional life, I have always been active in “physical culture”—specifically powerlifting, bodybuilding, and strength athletics. I am an avid billiards and chess player, aspiring to one day compete in tournaments and earn the rank of Master. I also an avid student of history, religion, and politics, but I also love to nerd out on UFO lore, cryptids, science fiction, and mythology. Looking ahead, I plan to write novels and continue publishing works that share the profound depth of Eastern wisdom.
